Why be a peacemaker? Hate is such an ugly emotion. Intentional and malicious cruelty with no other purpose than to cause another human being pain is definitely not in any Scripture that I’ve ever studied. Twisting truths and purposely lying just to feel good about oneself is the very essence of hatred. It is a plain and simple example of evil that manifests itself in human form and action. It is born of ignorance, fear and self-loathing and perpetrated by cowards who are doing nothing more than trying to garner attention to themselves!
Things can and will change in the blink of an eye! I write often about change and the need to embrace it. I think it is so very important for those of us in addiction recovery and mental health treatment to address this issue with open minds and open hearts. I would even go as far to say that it is a feeling that is necessary to experience at some point in our lives, and I think we all have. My own familiarity with loneliness has been a battle at times, an irritant at other times and quite discouraging in many instances. He makes all things new! Here we are again, another new year! I hear so many people say how happy they are for a new year because the one we left was so terrible, but can that really be true every year? We can all think of things that shoulda, woulda, coulda happened, but the fact is, that just isn’t realistic! The whole year couldn’t have been completely bad! Come on! Surely we can think of at least one thing that was good about it!
