Help and Hope Through the Arts
There has always been a stigma attached to any form of mental illness through the years. However in today's society it is much more accepted as the serious health issue that it is! There is still a long way to go, but understanding and acceptance seem to be gaining ground! If you feel you need help in this area or are unsure if you suffer from any type of mental illness, PLEASE seek help! For me personally I went through decades of addiction before my mental health was even considered, but thankfully that is changing! I am more than willing to steer you in the right direction wherever you are. Please don't hesitate to contact me!
Addiction in any form, is also a serious problem, and it's not just drugs and alcohol anymore! It is also much more widely accepted that addiction and mental illness go hand in hand, which is why we're seeing more and more 'dual diagnosis' treatment programs in recent years. 12 step programs are great, but sometimes there is just too much damage in both areas for that to be as effective as it could be. I personally use both 12 step programs and dual diagnosis treatment in conjunction with eachother. These groups are available in virtually any area around the world. Please contact me if you need help sorting through all your options! My only option was God, and He has seen fit to give me this ministry so that I may share my help and hope with others who struggle!
This is by far the most frightening and all too often result of untreated mental illness and unchecked addiction. There are too many reasons and too many questions as to why some choose this way out! PLEASE THINK before you act! If you are even considering ending your own life as a viable option then please talk to someone... ANYONE!! I will do everything in my power to put you in contact with the right people. Please don't ever feel like this life is not worth living!! Seek answers! Seek help and most importantly, seek God!
He will always be in your corner!
You are NEVER alone!!
Music is a powerful God-given gift of expression! It can make us feel and it can help us escape. I know many people in recovery who are simply awesome musicians, singers and songwriters. I would be proud to share your work with as many people who will listen! Any genre is welcome!... from country to Christian to hip-hop to heavy metal! It's all good! It can be just audio, or video, and I don't care if you made it in your living room! I have set up a special Facebook page to post your videos and tracks.

The Written Word
I love to write! God gave me the gift of being able to express myself through the written word. Whether it be song lyrics, poetry, essays or literature, it is another outlet to voice my opinions, beliefs, pain, concerns, love and joy! I know that through the process of uncertainty and then healing, that many of us sometimes have a lot to say. Writing in any form is a true God-given gift of expression! I would love to read your work, I truly would! I will post it on my ministry Facebook page so others can share your insights, and as with any of God's gifts, you may be helping someone else as well!
In 2004 I re-surrendered my life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I began studying Scripture and in 2006 I was ordained as a priest in the Celtic Church, and was then consecrated and made Bishop of the Celtic Communion of Christ. I started this ministry around the same time under the name Step 3 Ministries, referring to the third step in most 12 step recovery programs..."Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God". It was a difficult time, but I was overjoyed at the prospect of sobriety and clarity. What started as a one page Christian music website has grown to what it is today, 12 years later! This ministry is very involved in the arts as a form of therapy and to build self-esteem and other coping skills to hopefully make your journey a bit smoother! (I am a musician, artist and writer myself.)
After decades of addiction and many other related hardships in my life, sobriety was extremely foreign to me; but I truly desired it and wanted to turn my life around. I wanted to serve God and share all that He has gifted me with.
Some time later, I was also diagnosed as bi-polar with severe depression and anxiety/panic disorder. That might sound bad, but it actually answered a lot of questions and shed some light on what I was dealing with. I knew if I honestly revealed and shared my story that I could bring some real help and hope to others who are lost in the same darkness that I had been. I'm not perfect and have had my slips along the way; some that were very detrimental to my well-being, but I persevered and kept my eyes on the Cross! I am so very grateful to God for so many things!
I lost everything, including my family under the crush of addiction, but through Him have climbed out of that bleak existence and into the light!
This is now JQO Ministries (Joe Quinn Online) which includes the Celtic Communion of Christ and it is meant to give help and hope to others. To show people that there really is a better way! I pray that, if you're ready, you will utilize the services offered here, or anywhere else you can get help! Remember... Jesus loves you with all that He is, which is everything! May you find peace and joy in Him!
Love and blessings to all! +Joe Quinn
